How to Get and Manage a SkipCalls Phone Number

SkipCalls phone numbers let a receptionist receive and make calls. Active subscriptions include phone numbers up to the limit of the current plan. The Phone Numbers page shows your current limit and whether an upgrade or additional balance is required.

Get a number

  1. Open Phone Numbers in the web dashboard.

  2. Choose Buy Phone Number.

  3. Select a supported country and number type, then search by area code or digits if needed.

  4. Select an available number. SkipCalls checks your plan capacity before purchasing it.

Available number types, countries, and provider costs vary. The purchase screen is the current source for availability and any required balance.

Assign the number

Each phone number can be assigned to one receptionist. Use the Assigned Agent control on the Phone Numbers page. The newest active receptionist may be selected automatically when you buy a number.

Deactivate or remove

Deactivating stops call handling but keeps the number reserved and it still counts toward your plan limit. Removing a number unassigns and deactivates it, then starts a short recovery grace period. The number is not immediately deleted from the provider, but it may become unavailable after the grace period.

For the full current lifecycle, call-forwarding, and porting details, see Phone Numbers: Buying, Managing and Assigning.
