How to Connect Google Calendar
Connecting your Google Calendar to SkipCalls allows your AI agents to check your real-time availability and schedule appointments directly on your calendar. This ensures you never get double-booked and that all your meetings are organized in one place.
What this does
Once connected, your AI agents will have the ability to view your existing events to know when you are busy and create new events when a caller wants to book an appointment. It's like having a personal assistant who has direct access to your schedule.
Before you start
A SkipCalls account with an active subscription.
A Google account (personal or Google Workspace).
Permissions to grant SkipCalls access to your Google Calendar.
Step-by-Step Connection Guide
Navigate to Appointment Booking: Log in to your SkipCalls dashboard and click on "Appointment Booking" in the sidebar navigation.
Start Connection: Click the "Connect Calendar" button. If you haven't connected any calendars yet, you'll see this in the center of the page.
Choose Google: Select "Google Calendar" from the list of available providers.
Authorize SkipCalls: A new window will open. Select the Google account you wish to connect and click "Allow" to grant SkipCalls the necessary permissions to manage your calendar.
Select Your Active Calendar: Once authorized, you will be redirected back to SkipCalls. You will see a list of calendars associated with your Google account.
Set as Active: Find the specific calendar you want your AI agent to use and click "Set as Active". This designated calendar will be the "Primary" one used for availability checks and bookings.
Troubleshooting
"Needs Reconnection" Status
If you see an orange alert badge saying "Needs Reconnection," it means SkipCalls has lost access to your Google account (often due to a password change or security settings update). To fix this, simply click the "Reconnect" button on the calendar card and follow the authorization steps again.
Calendar Not Showing Up
If a specific calendar isn't appearing in the list, ensure that it is visible and active within your Google Calendar settings. Only calendars owned or shared with your account will be displayed.
Quick Reference
Primary Calendar: The calendar marked as "Active" is the ONLY one the AI agent uses to book calls.
Disconnecting: You can disconnect your account at any time by clicking the "More" (three dots) icon on the calendar card and selecting "Disconnect Provider".
