Forward email to your Email Receptionist
Use this guide to send customer emails from your current inbox to your SkipCalls Email Receptionist.
In SkipCalls, copy your receptionist address from Receptionist > Email Receptionist > Customer email address. In the steps below, use that address wherever you see [email protected].
Choose the right forwarding type
Forward one existing email when you only want the receptionist to see a single message.
Auto-forward future email when you want new customer emails to reach the receptionist automatically.
For reliable auto-forwarding, set it up in the email provider's web settings whenever possible. Phone apps and desktop mail apps are usually best for forwarding individual messages. Client-side rules may only run while the app is open.

In Forwarding, click Add a forwarding address, enter [email protected], confirm, then verify from the destination inbox. Return to Gmail, choose Forward a copy of incoming mail to, choose what Gmail should do with its copy, then click Save Changes.
Forward only some messages: Add and verify the forwarding address first. Then create a Gmail filter and choose Forward it.
Forward one email: Open the message, click Forward, enter [email protected], then send.
Note: Gmail forwarding setup is desktop-web oriented. Gmail may show security notices when forwarding is enabled.
Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, Microsoft 365 web, and new Outlook
Auto-forward future email: In new Outlook or Outlook on the web, go to Settings > Mail > Forwarding. Turn on Enable forwarding, enter [email protected], optionally keep a copy, then click Save.
Rules and redirect: If you use rules, go to Settings > Mail > Rules. Use a forwarding or redirect rule. Redirect is often better when you want replies to go back to the original customer, but availability can depend on your account and admin policy.
Forward one email: Select the message, choose Forward, enter [email protected], then send. Outlook normally includes attachments unless you remove them.
Classic Outlook desktop: Use Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts > New Rule > Apply rule on messages I receive, then choose a forward or redirect action. For always-on forwarding, provider-side web settings are more reliable.
Yahoo Mail
Auto-forward future email: In Yahoo Mail, go to More options > Settings > Mailboxes, select the primary mailbox, find Auto-forwarding, enter [email protected], then verify from the destination inbox.
Forward one email: Open the email, click the Forward icon, enter [email protected], then send.
Note: Yahoo lists automatic forwarding as a Mail Plus feature, so some free accounts or locales may not show the option.
AOL Mail
Auto-forward future email: AOL's current help says automatic forwarding is not offered.
Forward one email: Open the message, click the Forward icon, enter [email protected], then send.
Note: Treat AOL as manual-forward only unless you access the mailbox through another provider or mail client that supports rules.
iCloud Mail
Auto-forward future email: Go to iCloud.com/mail, open Settings, select Mail Forwarding, turn on Forward my email to, then enter [email protected].
Conditional forwarding: iCloud Mail also supports rules for specific messages.
Forward one email: Open the message in iCloud Mail or Apple Mail, choose Forward, decide whether to include attachments, enter [email protected], then send.
Apple Mail on Mac: Mail rules can forward messages, but Apple Mail rules run from the Mac app. For always-on forwarding, iCloud.com settings are safer.
Proton Mail
Auto-forward future email: In Proton Mail, go to Settings > All settings > Forward and auto-reply > Auto-forwarding. Add a forwarding rule, choose the source and destination, optionally add conditions, then send a confirmation email to the destination. The recipient must accept.
Forward one email: Use the message's forward action, enter [email protected], then send.
Note: Proton auto-forwarding is plan-dependent. Forwarding to non-Proton addresses can affect encryption handling, and Proton may not re-forward messages that already came from another Proton forwarding setup.
Zoho Mail
Auto-forward future email: Sign in to Zoho Mail and go to Settings > Mail Accounts. Select the sending address, then in Forwards, add [email protected]. Zoho sends a verification email; confirm it from the destination inbox.

Forward one email: Open the message, choose Forward, enter [email protected], then send.
Fastmail
Auto-forward future email: Go to Settings > Filters & Rules > Create rule. For forwarding everything, choose All messages, continue, select Send a copy to, enter [email protected], then save.

Note: Automatic forwarding may require Yahoo Mail Plus for AT&T email domains.
Cox.net
Auto-forward future email: Cox email has transitioned to Yahoo Mail for many users, so use the Yahoo Mail instructions after signing in to the Cox mailbox through Yahoo.
Forward one email: Use the Yahoo-style manual forwarding flow after migration.
Note: Forwarding availability may depend on the Yahoo/Cox account tier.
Spectrum / Roadrunner / Charter email
Auto-forward future email: Automatic forwarding may not be available in the current Spectrum mail system. If forwarding is already working on an older mailbox, do not disable it until you know how to recreate it.
Forward one email: Use manual forwarding from webmail or an email client.
Alternative: If the provider does not offer always-on forwarding, use a desktop client rule only if you can keep that app running, or ask Spectrum support whether your specific mailbox supports forwarding.

Phone apps and desktop mail apps
Apps are useful for forwarding one email. For automatic forwarding, use the source provider's web settings whenever possible.
Gmail app for Android, iPhone, or iPad
Open the email, tap Forward, enter [email protected], then send. Use Gmail desktop web settings for automatic forwarding.
Outlook mobile app
Open the email, use the reply/forward controls, choose Forward, add [email protected], then send. Use Outlook web or Microsoft 365 settings for always-on forwarding.
Outlook desktop for Windows or Mac
Select the message, choose Forward, add [email protected], then send. Classic Outlook can create forwarding or redirect rules, but provider-side forwarding is preferable where available.
Apple Mail on iPhone or iPad
Open the message, tap the reply button, choose Forward, choose whether to include attachments, enter [email protected], then send. For iCloud, configure auto-forwarding at iCloud.com. For Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and similar providers, use that provider's website.
Apple Mail on Mac
Select the message and use the forward command. Mail rules can automatically forward, but they depend on the Mail app running. Use provider-side forwarding for reliability.
Yahoo Mail app
Open the email, tap Forward, compose the forwarded message, and send. Use Yahoo Mail web settings for auto-forwarding, subject to account eligibility.
Thunderbird
Open or select the email and use Forward. Thunderbird message filters can forward messages to another address, but this is client-side and works best when Thunderbird is running. Provider-side forwarding is better for unattended forwarding.
Edison Mail
Mobile: open the message, tap the forward icon at the bottom, enter [email protected], then send. Desktop: open the message and use the Forward button at the bottom. Use the source email provider's web settings for auto-forwarding.
BlueMail

GMX app
Open or select the email, use the arrow or menu, choose Forward, enter [email protected], then send. For automatic forwarding, use provider settings only if your account shows a forwarding or filter option.

Check spam or junk in both mailboxes.
Confirm the verification email was accepted.
Make sure forwarding is enabled and saved after verification.
Choose keep a copy if you still want mail in the original inbox.
Check blocked senders, filters, and security notices.
For business, school, or managed accounts, ask the admin whether external forwarding is blocked.
Send a fresh test email to the original mailbox and confirm it appears in SkipCalls.
