Answer Delay: wait before your receptionist picks up
Answer Delay adds a small artificial wait after a call reaches SkipCalls, before your AI receptionist answers.
Why use it
Use it when your phone system rings SkipCalls and another phone at the same time. For example, Google Voice or a similar system may send the same incoming call to SkipCalls while also ringing your phone. Whichever destination answers first gets connected.
If SkipCalls answers too fast, set a short pickup delay so the other phone has a chance to pick up first. If someone else answers, that system keeps the call. If no one else answers, your AI receptionist picks up after the delay.
What it does not do
Answer Delay does not change how many times your regular phone rings before forwarding. Ring count and no-answer forwarding delay are controlled by your carrier or phone provider.
Where to set it
On web: AI Receptionists → select receptionist → Call Script → Incoming → Call Settings → Answer Delay.
On mobile: Receptionist → Advanced Settings → Artificial Answer Delay. Choose 0-20 seconds. 0 means off.
