Use Your Own Phone Number for Outbound Caller ID

By default, outbound AI calls show a SkipCalls number. You can verify a business number you control and select it as the caller ID for a receptionist. The number stays with its current carrier and incoming calls are not moved to SkipCalls.

Web dashboard

  1. Open Phone Numbers.

  2. Open the More menu and choose Use My Number.

  3. Enter the number and start verification.

  4. Answer the verification call and enter the code shown on screen using the phone keypad.

  5. Refresh the status until the number is Ready.

  6. Open AI Receptionists, select the receptionist, and choose the verified number under Call From My Number.

Mobile app

  1. Open SettingsReceptionist SettingsAdvanced Settings.

  2. Under Outgoing Calls, tap Use My Number.

  3. Add and verify the number, then turn it on for the receptionist.

Important

  • You must be able to answer the verification call and enter the code.

  • Verification is limited to two requests per hour.

  • If verification is already pending, wait two minutes before trying again.

  • A number already owned by another SkipCalls account cannot be claimed without support.

If the displayed caller ID is still wrong after verification, contact SkipCalls support with the receptionist name and an example outbound call time.
