Connect Apple Calendar

Written by Nikita Podelenko

Connect Apple Calendar (iCloud) so your receptionist can check your availability and book appointments that show up on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

What you need

  • Your Apple ID (the email you use for iCloud).

  • An app-specific password. Apple requires this for outside apps. Your regular Apple ID password won't work.

  • An active SkipCalls subscription.

Step 1: Create an app-specific password

  1. Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in.

  2. Open Sign-In and Security and choose App-Specific Passwords.

  3. Create a new password and name it "SkipCalls".

  4. Copy the password (it looks like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx). Apple shows it only once.

Step 2: Connect in SkipCalls

On the web:

  1. Open Tools & Setup → Appointments and switch to the Booking systems tab.

  2. Click Connect calendar and choose Apple Calendar.

  3. Enter your Apple ID and the App-Specific Password, then click Connect.

In the mobile app: go to Settings → Integrations → Connect Calendar, choose Apple Calendar, and enter the same details.

Step 3: Choose receptionists and set your hours

  1. On the Booking systems tab, click Manage next to your iCloud calendar and tick the receptionists that should book into it.

  2. Open the receptionist, go to the Booking tab, and click Configure to set work days, hours, appointment length, and the gap between appointments.

  3. Click Save Settings and make a test call.

Disconnecting

  • In SkipCalls, open the ⋯ menu next to the calendar and choose Remove from SkipCalls.

  • Or revoke the app-specific password at appleid.apple.com. SkipCalls will then ask you to reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't connect: make sure you used an app-specific password, not your regular Apple ID password.

  • No calendars found: you need at least one calendar stored in iCloud, not only on your device or in another account.

  • Reconnect notice: if you revoked the password, create a new one and connect again.
