Call Forwarding Setup — Metro by T-Mobile

Metro by T-Mobile uses Conditional Call Forwarding (CCF) to route unanswered, busy, or unreachable calls to SkipCalls. This means your phone still rings normally — SkipCalls only picks up when you can't.

Important: Metro by T-Mobile requires the Call Forwarding add-on ($1/month) to be active on your line before any forwarding codes will work. If you try to dial the codes without this feature enabled, you'll get an error or "not recognized" message.

Step 1: Enable Call Forwarding on Your Metro Account

You must add the Call Forwarding feature to your Metro plan first. There are two ways:

Option A: Use the MyMetro App (Recommended)

  1. Open the MyMetro app on your phone

  2. Go to AccountAdd-ons or Manage Plan

  3. Find Call Forwarding and enable it ($1/month)

  4. Wait a few minutes for the feature to activate

Here's a video walkthrough of the MyMetro app if you're unfamiliar with it:

Option B: Call Metro Customer Service

  • Call 611 from your Metro phone, or dial 1-888-863-8768

  • Ask them to "enable Call Forwarding" on your line

  • This adds the $1/month feature to your account

Step 2: Set Up Forwarding to SkipCalls

Once the Call Forwarding feature is active, open the SkipCalls app and follow the on-screen setup. The app will guide you through dialing the right codes for your phone.

If you prefer to set it up manually, dial these codes from your phone's dialer (replace YOUR_SKIPCALLS_NUMBER with the number shown in your SkipCalls app):

Forward When

Activate Code

Deactivate Code

Busy (declined calls)

**67*YOUR_SKIPCALLS_NUMBER#

##67#

No Answer (missed calls)

**61*YOUR_SKIPCALLS_NUMBER#

##61#

All Calls

**21*YOUR_SKIPCALLS_NUMBER#

##21#

We recommend setting up both "Busy" and "No Answer" so SkipCalls catches declined calls AND missed calls.

Step 3: Test It

  1. Call your phone from another number

  2. Let it ring 4-5 times without answering

  3. SkipCalls AI should pick up the call

Quick Check: Is SkipCalls Working?

If you're not sure whether the issue is on SkipCalls' side or your carrier's side, here's a fast way to find out:

Call your SkipCalls number directly (the number shown in your app settings) from any phone. If the AI agent answers — SkipCalls is working fine. The issue is with your carrier's call forwarding setup, not with SkipCalls.

This tells you exactly where to focus your troubleshooting:

  • Agent answers the direct call → SkipCalls is good. The problem is that Metro isn't forwarding calls to us. Go back to Step 1 and make sure the Call Forwarding add-on is enabled.

  • Agent does NOT answer the direct call → Something may be wrong on our side. Tap the help button in the app and let us know.

Troubleshooting

Codes say "not recognized" or nothing happens

  • The Call Forwarding add-on is likely not active yet. Go back to Step 1 and make sure it's enabled in MyMetro or call 611.

  • Wait 5-10 minutes after enabling it, then try the codes again.

Carrier says it worked, but SkipCalls shows "not connected"

  • First, clear all existing forwarding by dialing: ##21#, ##61#, ##67#

  • Then set up forwarding again using the codes above

  • If it still doesn't work, call Metro at 1-888-863-8768 and ask them to "enable conditional call forwarding to [your SkipCalls number]"

Calls go to Metro voicemail instead of SkipCalls

  • Metro's built-in voicemail may be intercepting calls before forwarding kicks in

  • Call 611 and ask to disable Metro voicemail on your line

  • Then set up forwarding codes again
