Business Profile: Setting Up Your Company Information

Business Profile: Teaching Your AI About Your Company

Your Business Profile is where you tell your AI agent about your company. The more you fill in, the better your agent can answer caller questions and represent your business on calls and texts.

Where to Find It

Click Business Profile in the dashboard sidebar. You can also fill it out during onboarding when you first set up your account.

How It Works

The Business Profile uses a simple Q&A format. You pick your industry, and SkipCalls generates a set of relevant questions for your business type. You answer them, and your AI agent uses those answers when talking to callers.

For example, if a caller asks "What are your business hours?" and you've answered that question here, your agent will respond with your exact answer instead of guessing.

Step 1: Pick Your Industry

Choose the industry that best matches your business. Each one comes with tailored questions. A set of common questions (relevant to all businesses) is included automatically.

Step 2: Answer the Questions

You'll see a list of questions with text fields. Fill in your answers and click Save Answer. A progress bar at the top shows how many you've completed.

  • Green checkmark = answered

  • Gray number = still needs your answer

Tip: You can also edit the question text by clicking the pencil icon.

Step 3: Add Your Own Questions

If something important is missing, click Add Custom Question. You can write your own or use a template:

  • Business Hours — your schedule

  • Pricing — your rates

  • Services — what you offer

  • Location — your address and service area

Write answers the way you'd want your agent to say them to customers — clear, friendly, and complete.

Removing Questions

Click the trash icon on any question to remove it. You'll be asked to confirm first.

Changing Your Industry

Click Change Category in the top-right corner to switch industries. Unanswered template questions will be replaced, but anything you've already answered stays.

Automatic Website Import

If you add your company website in your profile settings, SkipCalls can automatically read your website and fill in Q&A entries for you. This happens during onboarding and saves you time.

Company Info in Settings

Under your profile settings (click your avatar → Profile → Company tab), you can also set:

  • Company Name

  • Company Website

  • Company Description

  • Industry

  • Company Size

This information helps your AI agent understand your business better.

How Your Agent Uses This

Your Business Profile answers are automatically shared with your AI agent during:

  • Phone calls — The agent can reference your answers when callers ask questions.

  • Text messages — Same answers are available when the agent responds to SMS.

  • Follow-up actions — If you have automated follow-ups set up, they use your profile too.

Only answered questions are shared. Unanswered ones are ignored.

Tips

  • Answer everything. The more complete your profile, the fewer times your agent will say "I don't have that information."

  • Be specific. Instead of "normal business hours," write "Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern. Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM. Closed Sundays."

  • Match your tone. If you write casually, your agent responds casually. If you write formally, it responds formally.

  • Keep it current. Update your profile when hours, pricing, or services change.

  • Add FAQs. If callers keep asking the same thing, add it as a custom question.
