Your Business Profile is a list of questions and answers about your business — hours, prices, services, location, and anything else callers ask. Your AI receptionist reads these answers on every call and text, so it can answer right away instead of guessing or taking a message.

Where to find it
On the web dashboard, click Business Profile in the left menu (under Tools & Setup). In the mobile app, go to Settings → Business Profile.
Step 1: Choose your type of business
The first time you open Business Profile, you'll be asked what kind of business you run. Search the list or type your own description, then click Continue. SkipCalls adds questions that fit your type of business, plus a few core questions every business needs (like your business name, website, and address).
Step 2: Answer the questions
Your questions appear in a list with the answer next to each one. Click any answer and start typing.
Answers save automatically a moment after you stop typing. A small check mark shows when it's saved. There's no Save button.
A green dot means the question is answered. An orange dot means it still needs an answer.
Use the All questions and Unanswered tabs at the top to see everything or only what's left. The count next to them shows how many you've answered.
If an answer gets longer than about 500 characters, you'll see a reminder to keep it short. Your receptionist reads the whole answer, so shorter answers sound better on calls.
Step 3: Add your own questions
If callers often ask something that isn't on the list, add it:
Click Add a question at the bottom of the list (or the Add question button at the top).
Type the question the way a caller would ask it, for example "Do you offer weekend appointments?"
Type the answer the way you want your receptionist to say it.
The Add question button also offers quick starting points for Hours, Pricing, Services, and Location. Replace the parts in [BRACKETS] with your details.
You can change the wording of your own questions at any time — just click the question text and edit it. It saves automatically too.
Removing questions
Click the trash icon next to one of your questions, then confirm. The core questions at the top of the list can't be removed, but you can edit their answers or leave them blank.
Fill it in faster
The Fill it in faster panel on the right side of the page offers shortcuts so you don't have to type everything:
Interview with your receptionist — opens a chat that walks you through your unanswered questions one at a time and checks each answer with you before saving it.
Import a website or file — paste your website address, or drop in a PDF, Word, Excel, text, or image file (up to 5 MB). SkipCalls reads it and adds the answers it finds as new questions in your list. Answers you already have are not changed. You can run up to 5 imports per hour. Look over what was added and edit or delete anything that isn't right.
Choose which receptionists use these answers
Your Business Profile is shared by every receptionist on your account, and it's turned on for each one by default.
If you have two or more receptionists, open Receptionists that use these answers in the right panel and switch any receptionist off to stop it from using your Business Profile. You can also change this from a receptionist's Tools section using the Business Profile switch.
Company details in your account
Your account profile has a Company section (click your profile, then Company) for your company name, website, a short description of what your business does, industry, and team size. These also help your receptionist understand your business.
How your receptionist uses your answers
Phone calls — your receptionist uses your answers when callers ask about your business.
Text messages — the same answers are used when it replies by text.
Only questions with an answer are used. Blank questions are ignored, so unanswered ones never hurt — they just mean your receptionist has less to work with.
How many questions you can have
Business Profile is included with every plan. Some plans allow up to 20 questions. If you reach your limit, combine or delete a question to make room, or upgrade your plan for unlimited questions.
Tips
Be specific. Instead of "normal business hours," write "Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Saturday 10 AM to 2 PM. Closed Sundays."
Keep it short. One or two sentences per answer works best on a call.
Write it the way you'd say it. Your receptionist follows your tone.
Keep it current. Update answers when your hours, prices, or services change.
Add your top questions. If callers keep asking the same thing, add it as a question.
Long documents go in the Knowledge Base. Menus, full price lists, manuals, and policies are better uploaded to your Knowledge Base. Not sure which to use? Click Business Profile or Knowledge Base? at the top of the page.
