Lead Alerts call or text the right person on your team after an important incoming call. You set simple rules, like "caller reports an emergency" or "caller asks for a quote", and pick who should hear about it. When a call matches, SkipCalls calls or texts that person with the details.
Use them for urgent service requests, hot sales leads, VIP customers, or anything a person on your team should act on right away.
How it works
A caller talks to your AI receptionist.
When the call ends, SkipCalls checks the conversation against your rules. It matches meaning, not exact words.
For each rule that matches, SkipCalls calls or texts the person on that rule, at the time you chose.
They get the caller's name and number, what the caller needs, any missing details, and what to do next.
Set up Lead Alerts
Open Lead Alerts in the left menu. It shows which receptionists already send alerts.
Under Add an alert, pick a receptionist. You can also open the receptionist and go to the Lead Alert tab.
Click Add a rule.
Choose Phone call or SMS, and enter the recipient's Phone number with the country code, for example +15551234567. Click Next.
Fill in the rule:
Recipient name: for example "John" or "Dispatch team".
Condition: when the alert should go out, for example "Caller reports an emergency".
When to send: Immediately, in 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.
What to tell them (optional): anything extra to include or ask, for example "Share the caller's address and ask if you can take the job today."
Click Save.
Lead Alerts turn on as soon as a receptionist has at least one rule. To stop them, delete the rules. To change a rule, click the edit icon next to it.
In the mobile app, open your receptionist, then Lead Alerts under After Call.
Example rules
Emergency service: Phone call to John, immediately, when the caller says their AC is broken or reports an HVAC emergency.
Plumbing issue: Phone call to Mike in 30 seconds when there is a water leak or burst pipe.
VIP customer: SMS to the account manager in 5 minutes when the caller says they are a premium member.
Sales lead: SMS to the sales team in 2 minutes when the caller asks about pricing or a quote.
What your team member gets
Phone call
Your receptionist calls the recipient, opens with a short update, and waits for them to answer before sharing details. Then it gives a quick briefing:
Why they are being called.
The caller's name and callback number.
What the caller needs, plus addresses, timing, and other details they gave.
Important details the caller did not give.
How urgent it is, and the next step to decide.
Alert calls last up to 5 minutes and appear in your outgoing calls.
SMS
The recipient gets one complete text from the SkipCalls number that took the call. It says who called, their callback number, what they asked for, why the alert was sent, and what to do next.
Write good conditions
Be specific. "AC is broken or no cooling" works better than "problem".
Describe one situation per rule. Make separate rules for separate people.
Use What to tell them for anything the recipient always needs, like the address or a question to answer.
Good to know
If a call matches several rules, each matching rule sends its own alert, once.
Spam calls never trigger Lead Alerts.
Test calls from the browser don't trigger Lead Alerts.
Calls from one of your SkipCalls numbers, or from a number you verified as your caller ID, don't trigger Lead Alerts. To test, call from a different phone.
When an alert call is scheduled, you see an "Outbound call scheduled" notification in SkipCalls.
Lead Alerts are included on the Growth plan and above on the web, and with PRO in the mobile app. On other plans, existing rules stay visible, but you need to upgrade to add or change them.
Test with a few real calls before relying on Lead Alerts for emergencies.
