How to test your receptionist after setup

After setting up call forwarding, it’s important to make sure everything is working correctly and your assistant can answer incoming calls. There are a few easy ways to test this.

Option 1. Call your number from another phone

This is the simplest and most realistic way to test your setup, especially if you want to hear and talk to your assistant.

How it works:

  1. Use any other phone (a friend’s phone, a colleague’s phone, or a second number).

  2. Call your main phone number where call forwarding is set up.

  3. Decline the call on your phone.

  4. Wait for the assistant to pick up.

With this method, you can:

  • confirm that call forwarding is working;

  • hear your assistant’s voice and greeting;

  • actually talk to your assistant and see how it responds.

👉 This is the best option if you want to experience how your assistant works in a real call.

Option 2. Make a test inbound call from the app

If you just want to quickly check that everything is set up correctly on the technical side, you can run a built-in test directly from the app.

How to do it:

  1. Open the app.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Tap Receptionist Settings.

  4. Open Setup & Help.

  5. Select Test Inbound Call.

What happens next:

  • the system will place a test call automatically;

  • you’ll see a report after the test;

  • when the call comes in, simply decline it.

Your assistant will answer the call on its own.

This allows you to verify that call forwarding and the assistant are working properly — without participating in the call yourself.

👉 This option is great for a quick setup check.

Which option should I choose?

  • Want to talk to your assistant and test real conversations? Use Option 1.

  • Just want to confirm that everything is connected and working? Use Option 2.
