Business Profile: Help Your AI Receptionist Know Your Business

Your Business Profile is a set of questions and answers that help the AI receptionist respond accurately to caller inquiries about your business.

Why Business Profile Matters

When callers ask questions like:

  • "What are your business hours?"

  • "Where are you located?"

  • "What services do you offer?"

  • "What's your website?"

The AI receptionist uses your Business Profile to provide accurate answers. Without this information, the AI can only take a message instead of helping the caller directly.

Accessing Business Profile

  1. Open the SkipCalls app

  2. Go to the Settings tab

  3. Tap Business Profile

Core Info Section

The Core Info section contains essential business details. Fill out as many fields as possible:

What to Enter

Business Name

Your official business name

Website

Your website URL (e.g., https://example.com)

Email

Your business contact email

Address

Your physical location or service area

To edit a field, tap on it and enter your information. The AI will use exactly what you provide, so be accurate.

Knowledge Base Section

The Knowledge Base contains category-specific questions based on your business type. These might include:

  • Services you offer and pricing

  • Operating hours

  • Payment methods accepted

  • Common policies (returns, cancellations, etc.)

Each question shows whether it's been answered or not. Tap any question to add or edit your answer.

First-Time Setup

If you haven't filled out your Business Profile yet, the app will guide you through a quick onboarding:

  1. Choose Your Business Category: Select the industry that best describes your business

  2. Answer Core Questions: Fill in 4 essential questions about your business

  3. Finish Setup: Your profile is ready to use

You can always add more information later from the Business Profile screen.

Tips for Better Answers

  • Be specific: "We're open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm" is better than "Regular business hours"

  • Keep it concise: The AI reads these answers aloud, so short answers work best

  • Update regularly: If your hours or services change, update your profile

  • Think like a caller: What questions do you get most often? Make sure those are answered

How the AI Uses Your Profile

When a caller asks a question, the AI:

  1. Searches your Business Profile for relevant information

  2. Formulates a natural response using that information

  3. Delivers the answer conversationally

If the answer isn't in your profile, the AI will offer to take a message so you can follow up.
