Customize Your AI Receptionist

Make your AI receptionist match your business personality by customizing its voice, name, and how it handles calls.

Accessing Receptionist Settings

To customize your receptionist:

  1. Go to the Settings tab

  2. Tap on your receptionist profile at the top, or

  3. Go to Settings β†’ Setup & Support β†’ scroll to Receptionist Settings

Changing the Name

Your AI receptionist introduces itself by name during calls. To change it:

  1. Tap Name in Receptionist Settings

  2. Enter a new name (e.g., "Alex", "Jordan", "Sam")

  3. Tap Save

Choose a name that fits your brand β€” professional for business, friendly for personal use.

Selecting a Voice

SkipCalls offers a variety of natural-sounding AI voices. To change the voice:

  1. Tap Voice in Receptionist Settings

  2. Browse the available voices

  3. Tap the play button to preview each voice

  4. Select your preferred voice

Voices vary in tone, accent, and personality. Pick one that represents how you want callers to perceive your business.

Instructions & Greetings

Customize what your receptionist says and how it behaves:

  1. Tap Instructions & Greetings

  2. Edit the greeting message for known contacts

  3. Edit the greeting for unknown callers

  4. Add special instructions for how to handle calls

Example greeting: "Hi, thanks for calling [Business Name]. I'm Alex, how can I help you today?"

Business Profile

Help your receptionist answer questions about your business:

  1. Tap Business Profile

  2. Add frequently asked questions and answers

  3. Include your business hours, location, services, etc.

The AI uses this information to respond accurately when callers ask about your business.

Call Transfer

Set up a number where important calls can be transferred live:

  1. Tap Call Transfer

  2. Enter the phone number to transfer to

  3. Optionally, set transfer hours (e.g., only during business hours)

When enabled, callers can ask to speak to a human, and the AI will transfer the call to your specified number.

After Call Text

Automatically send an SMS to callers after their call:

  1. Tap After Call Text

  2. Enter your follow-up message

  3. Toggle the feature on

Example: "Thanks for calling! We'll get back to you shortly. In the meantime, visit our website at example.com"

Tips for Better Calls

  • Keep greetings short and friendly β€” long intros can frustrate callers

  • Update your business profile with common questions to reduce transfers

  • Test your changes by calling your own number after saving
