Customize Your AI Receptionist
Make your AI receptionist match your business personality by customizing its voice, name, and how it handles calls.
Accessing Receptionist Settings
To customize your receptionist:
Go to the Settings tab
Tap on your receptionist profile at the top, or
Go to Settings β Setup & Support β scroll to Receptionist Settings
Changing the Name
Your AI receptionist introduces itself by name during calls. To change it:
Tap Name in Receptionist Settings
Enter a new name (e.g., "Alex", "Jordan", "Sam")
Tap Save
Choose a name that fits your brand β professional for business, friendly for personal use.
Selecting a Voice
SkipCalls offers a variety of natural-sounding AI voices. To change the voice:
Tap Voice in Receptionist Settings
Browse the available voices
Tap the play button to preview each voice
Select your preferred voice
Voices vary in tone, accent, and personality. Pick one that represents how you want callers to perceive your business.
Instructions & Greetings
Customize what your receptionist says and how it behaves:
Tap Instructions & Greetings
Edit the greeting message for known contacts
Edit the greeting for unknown callers
Add special instructions for how to handle calls
Example greeting: "Hi, thanks for calling [Business Name]. I'm Alex, how can I help you today?"
Business Profile
Help your receptionist answer questions about your business:
Tap Business Profile
Add frequently asked questions and answers
Include your business hours, location, services, etc.
The AI uses this information to respond accurately when callers ask about your business.
Call Transfer
Set up a number where important calls can be transferred live:
Tap Call Transfer
Enter the phone number to transfer to
Optionally, set transfer hours (e.g., only during business hours)
When enabled, callers can ask to speak to a human, and the AI will transfer the call to your specified number.
After Call Text
Automatically send an SMS to callers after their call:
Tap After Call Text
Enter your follow-up message
Toggle the feature on
Example: "Thanks for calling! We'll get back to you shortly. In the meantime, visit our website at example.com"
