Mobile App vs Web App

Written by Nikita Podelenko

Overview

SkipCalls has a mobile app (iPhone and Android) and a web dashboard at app.skipcalls.com. They use the same account, so everything you set up in one shows up in the other.

The app is built for quick setup and staying on top of calls on the go. The web dashboard has every setting, plus integrations, campaigns, and automations.

What you can use depends on your plan more than on where you open SkipCalls. Plans bought in the app (Starter and PRO) are different from plans bought on the web (Starter, PRO, Business, Enterprise). Starter and PRO have the same features in the app and on the web.

Receptionists and phone numbers

  • App Starter: 1 receptionist, 1 phone number

  • App PRO: up to 3 receptionists and 3 phone numbers

  • Web Starter: 1 receptionist, 1 phone number

  • Web PRO (formerly Growth): up to 3 receptionists and 3 phone numbers

  • Web Business: up to 10 receptionists and 10 phone numbers

  • Web Enterprise: the minutes, receptionists and numbers you choose in Billing → Build your Enterprise plan

Current prices and included usage are on skipcalls.com/pricing.

Available in both the app and on the web

  • Receptionist name, voice, greeting, and instructions

  • Business Profile and Knowledge Base

  • Call history with summaries, transcripts, and recordings

  • Text conversations with customers

  • Call Transfer, Follow-ups, and Blocked Numbers

  • Calendar booking with Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar

  • Lead Alerts (PRO and higher, or Growth and higher on older web plans)

  • Team accounts (PRO and higher, or Growth and higher on older web plans). You invite teammates from the web dashboard, and teammates can switch to your team's workspace in the app.

  • The SkipCalls assistant chat

Only in the mobile app

  • Push notifications for new calls and messages

  • Syncing your phone's contacts so your receptionist can greet callers by name

Set up on the web dashboard

These are configured on the web, even if you bought your plan in the app:

  • More booking tools: Calendly, Cal.com, Square, GoHighLevel, and TidyCal

  • CRMs: Salesforce, HubSpot, kvCORE, GoHighLevel, Lofty, and Jobber

  • Zapier (7,000+ apps), webhooks, and API keys

  • Outbound call campaigns (web PRO and higher)

  • Call Scenarios, Data Extraction, and Lead Qualify

  • Email receptionist and the website widget

  • Detailed receptionist settings and testing

Most of these need PRO or higher (Growth or higher on older web plans). Each feature's help article lists its plan.

Which should I use?

Start with the app if:

  • You're a solo professional or small business

  • You want to be set up in a few minutes

  • One to three phone numbers is enough

  • You want call alerts on your phone

Use the web dashboard if:

  • You need more than 3 receptionists or phone numbers

  • You want to connect a CRM, Zapier, or webhooks

  • You book through Calendly, Cal.com, Square, GoHighLevel, or TidyCal

  • You want to run outbound call campaigns

  • You prefer working on a big screen

Using both together

Most customers do. Fine-tune your receptionist on the web, and use the app for notifications, quick replies to customers, and checking calls on the go. Changes sync both ways.

If you have more than one receptionist, switch between them at the top of the Settings tab in the app.
