Connect HubSpot so every call your receptionist handles shows up in HubSpot automatically, with no copying and pasting.
What gets sent to HubSpot
After each finished call (incoming or outgoing), SkipCalls:
Finds the contact by phone number or email, or creates a new one if they're not in HubSpot yet.
Adds a note to the contact with the call title, status, length, caller name, lead quality, suggested next step, the call summary, a link to the recording and the transcript.
Creates a deal for the contact (optional, off by default).
Adds a note when a customer uploads files through a SkipCalls upload link, with links to the files.
Before you start
A SkipCalls Growth, Business or Enterprise plan. CRM connections are not included on Starter.
A HubSpot user who can create Private Apps (usually a Super Admin).
Step 1: Get your HubSpot access token
In HubSpot, click the Settings icon (gear) in the top bar.
In the left menu, go to Integrations → Private Apps.
Click Create a private app and name it "SkipCalls".
Open the Scopes tab and turn on:
crm.objects.contacts.read and crm.objects.contacts.write
crm.objects.deals.read and crm.objects.deals.write (only if you want deals)
crm.objects.notes.write
crm.objects.communications.write
timeline
Click Create app, confirm, then click Show token and copy the Access Token. It starts with pat-.
Step 2: Connect HubSpot in SkipCalls
In the SkipCalls dashboard, open Integrations in the left menu and go to the CRM tab.
Click HubSpot.
Paste the token into Private App Access Token.
Choose your options:
Automatically Create Contacts: keep this on so new callers are added.
Automatically Create Deals: turn on if you want a deal for each synced call.
Create Timeline Events: keep this on to get the call note on the contact.
Click Test Connection. You should see a success message.
Click Save Settings.
That's it. Your next finished call will appear on the contact in HubSpot within a minute or two.
Advanced settings (optional)
Open Advanced Settings on the HubSpot setup page to fine-tune:
Smart Filter: only send calls that match rules you write in plain English, for example "Only send calls where the caller asked for a quote. Skip spam and wrong numbers."
Portal ID: your HubSpot account ID, if you want to set it yourself.
Default Owner ID: the HubSpot user who should own new deals.
Default Pipeline ID and Default Stage ID: where new deals go. If you leave these empty, deals go to your default pipeline at the "Appointment scheduled" stage.
Change or disconnect
Go to Integrations → CRM. Under Connected, click Edit to change settings, or the trash icon to disconnect. Disconnecting stops new syncs; anything already in HubSpot stays there.
Troubleshooting
Test Connection fails: make sure you copied the Access Token (starts with pat-), not the client ID or secret.
Contacts appear but no notes or deals: check that the notes and deals scopes are turned on in your HubSpot private app.
A call didn't sync: calls with no phone number and no email can't be matched to a contact. If Smart Filter is on, the call may have been skipped by your rules.
Can't open the HubSpot setup: CRM connections need the Growth plan or higher.
