Getting Started with Your AI Receptionist
Your SkipCalls receptionist answers live calls, follows your call-handling instructions, captures caller details, and can use connected features such as call transfer, calendars, Knowledge Base, and follow-up messages.
1. Create and personalize the receptionist
Complete onboarding, choose a voice, and add the business name, hours, services, and the way you want calls handled. You can edit the receptionist later from Receptionist Settings in the mobile app or AI Receptionists in the web dashboard.
2. Tell it what to accomplish
Use Call Handling and Call Tasks for the outcomes you need on calls. Add a Business Profile for short, stable facts. Add documents, text, or webpages to the Knowledge Base when the receptionist needs detailed information.
3. Connect the features you use
Optional features include calendars for scheduling, transfer destinations for live handoff, and follow-up messages after calls. Only promise actions that you have connected and configured.
4. Connect your existing phone number
The setup uses your phone carrier to send the calls you choose to your SkipCalls number. Follow the instructions for your exact carrier and forwarding mode.
5. Test before relying on it
Call your SkipCalls number directly to hear the receptionist. Then test your normal business or mobile number from another phone and let it ring naturally. Review the resulting transcript and summary, then adjust the setup if needed.
