What languages does SkipCalls support?

Written by Nikita Podelenko

Your receptionist works best in English, and it can also talk with callers in other languages.

Languages on calls

How your receptionist handles languages depends on the Voice Language setting:

  • English Only (the default): best recognition when callers speak English.

  • Multilingual: your receptionist detects the caller's language and replies in it. Supported languages are English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Hindi, and Japanese.

Some voices handle languages automatically and don't show this setting.

See Voice Language Setting - English Only vs. Multilingual to learn where to change it and which mode to choose.

Tips

  • If most of your callers speak English, keep English Only. It understands accents and noisy calls better.

  • If your receptionist should always reply in one language, say so in its instructions, for example: Always respond in Spanish.

  • For an important call in a language other than English, call your SkipCalls number yourself first to test it, and check the transcript afterwards.
